‘Varsha Geet’ in Ongoing Gamak Online Series Sets the Monsoon Flair


Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Folk singer Preeti Borliya and his troupe performed Varsha Geet ‘Mewaji aap barso ne dharti nibje… on Sunday.

The concert was organized by Kalidas Sanskrit Akademi, Ujjain. It was part of the ongoing ‘Gamak’ online series, organized by the Madhya Pradesh Department of Culture in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Ujjain’s troupe presented songs by Malvi, delighted the audience. They started with Ganesh Vandna ‘Sewa mahri mani lo…’. He was followed by “Nayak-Naika Geet”, “Shringar Geet”. They also presented a song by Kabir in Malawi “Garv karo so gawara…”.

In addition, the event started with the performance of Pt. Kuldeep Dubey and the Ujjain Troupe presented Shriram Bhajan. They started with Ganesh Vandna ‘Gaiye Ganpati Jagvandan’, followed by Ramjanam Badhai Geet ‘Janme hai Ram-Ramaiya Avadh mein baje badhaiya…’, Bal Leela Geet ‘Thumak Chalat Ramchandra…’ and Van-Gaman Geet ‘Van ko chale dono bhai Sitamai… ‘. They ended with Ram Stuti ‘Shri Ramchandra kripalu bhajman…’.
