Wicklow Musicians and Oral Artists Part of New Online Series

An online series will feature some of Wicklow’s local musicians and spoken word artists.

The 12 Days of Christmas series kicked off on Christmas Day and will run online through January 6. The County Wicklow Arts Office has hosted an eclectic series of musical and spoken word performances that will be posted online daily during the 12 days of Christmas.

Professional musicians and spoken word artists from across the county have collaborated to create a wonderful mix of recorded live performances that can be viewed as stand-alone pieces or as a series. The performances were recorded at various locations across Wicklow, including June Blake’s Garden in West Wicklow.

The series features musical performances by Chieftains vocalist and bodhran player Kevin Conneff alongside classical guitarist Redmond O ‘Toole, world music group Kíla, vocal harmonies by Wyvern Lingo, classical pianist Fiachra Garvey, the soprano Catherine Redding, tenor Ross Scanlan, James Mahon on pipes, the Penstons, Rachel Factor, Liobe Petrie, the Colm O ‘Hara Trio, Carmel McCreagh and East Coast Jazz.

Oral artists include Eithne Hand, Nell Regan, Kayssie K, and David Butler.

The performances can be viewed on the County Wicklow Arts Office’s YouTube channel. The series was supported by the Local Live Performance Support program.
